The hospital that reimagined healthcare also reimagined Canada’s premiere event for advancing women’s health and health equity for everyone: Women for Women’s went virtual! On International Women’s Day on Monday, March 8, 2021, we celebrated with purpose, empowerment and inspiration!
With online networking rooms and a live broadcast, Women for Women’s 2021 continued its goal of connecting champions of health equity in support of the mission and vision of Women’s College Hospital. An incredible $560,000 was raised by our sponsors, ticket purchasers, Marketplace supporters, and donors to advance equity in healthcare for women and for everyone.
Of that amount, over $157,000 was raised during the event to support The Emily Stowe Society, a revolutionary program with a mission to engage, retain and advance the next generation of bright young researchers from underrepresented communities through scholarships, paid internships and mentorship.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Rosary Spence and Kateri Gauthier for opening Women for Women’s with a special drum and song prayer. To learn more about the meaning behind the song’s powerful teachings, you can view the extended version here.
